– Mon, Nov 11, 2024 at 09:03:18 AM
Howdy all! Nonat Here!
It's been an INSANE two weeks. I got home from visiting my folks and jumped right into the Nonat November Subathon which has dominated my life FAR more than I ever expected! (Later this week I'll be working on some Sinclair's content live though!) That's the reason this update is so much later. Simply put, I lot total track of time and 10 days passed a lot faster than expected!
But our very own Eldritch Dream has been CRANKING out content to prepare our biggest Backer Preview in a long time! We'll be releasing the OFFICIAL CODEX PREVIEW!! Backers will be getting a massive 90+ page preview of the Codex PDF full of NPCs from all six different chapters! Civilians, Heroes, Lone Wolves, Groups, Villains, and Nemeses!!
So enjoy this little teaser of one NPC, Daichi. Soon, you'll have an entire PDF of NPCs at your disposal full of characters you can plug and play in your home campaigns! We're so excited to get this PDF in your hands, so look forward to that soon!
See yall next week!

Weekly Progress Update #2: Tiny Furies

Howdy, all! Nonat here.
This week's update is a little bit late, and that's on me. I was out in North Carolina for the week visiting my folks. Luckily, our resident NPC and Layout expert, Shawn "EldritchDream", has been hard at work in my absence! In fact, you can WATCH THEM hard at work on their Twitch streams where they edit for Sinclair's Library live along with their other TTRPG creations!
Over the past week, Shawn has put heavy work into one of our Organizations, The Tiny Furies. These are entire collections of NPCs with interconnected lore and tactics! This band of mercenaries are filled with unique story beats, abilities, and even equipment such as Ribbin's Hammer!
This is also an example of something that is almost ready for print. It's in the second-to-last stage of development. This is where we clean up the remaining bits and pieces. Layout glitches and minor grammar errors are all cleaned up from here, so you might still see a couple laying around in this preview. (Such as the table on page 2 not looking quite right) But we want to show you as much of our process as possible, and that includes the messy parts!
So click here to enjoy the Tiny Furies and all of the mayhem they have to offer! See yall next week!
Weekly Progress Update #1: Bailey Brightbrew!

Howdy, all! Nonat here!
This week flew by faster than I expected, but I'm here to provide you the weekly content update that I promised 7 days ago. Today I'm showing you what an NPC looks like as a first draft. Introducing Bailey Brightbrew, an example of our Civilian NPCs! This version is before any real heavy editing and balancing is done to the entry. I designed this one myself with some help from Eldritch Dream.
Sinclair's has a 6-step editing process of: Draft > Edit > First Pass > Revise > Second Pass > Layout. Bailey Brightbrew is done the Draft stage and ready for a first round of editing. Once the obvious grammar, syntax and balancing errors are edited, we do another pass through to catch some less obvious things. We'll possibly change some lore or abilities on the stat block and move it onto the revision stage. We pass over the content once more, hopefully fixing anything miniscule left over, and then send it out for layout!
So, once the book is done, try coming back to this post and comparing the final version of Bailey to their original form! You might be surprised just how much gets cleaned and changed along the content pipeline!

It's Time to Hunker Down

Howdy, all. Nonat here.
It’s been another 4 months of silence from us. This is simply because we’ve made very little progress. As I stated in the June update, we’ve been stalled for over a year now. All 3 members of the Sinclair’s team have gone through radical life-altering events and we’re all doing everything we can to stay on our feet. We’ve all got full time jobs to pay our bills, and I’ve personally been living paycheck-to-paycheck for the past 9 months. The amount of writing and editing on this project has been minimal at best.
It’s clear to everybody that we, the Sinclair’s Team, have failed. We failed to budget correctly. We failed to manage our time. We failed to provide appropriate customer communication. We are loaded with numerous regrets that we couldn’t deliver the product we wanted to make in the time span that we wanted to make it in. It was our first company and our first Kickstarter, and it absolutely shows. We learned so much, but it’s too late for that to help this project.
We spent more money on Marketing than we should’ve, and it didn’t pan out the way we intended. We went above and beyond with the amount and quality of artwork in these books, and (even though the art is absolutely breathtaking) we couldn’t afford it. We flew too close to the sun.
All we can do is keep working, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. I, Nonat, have finally settled down after moving three times in two years for a plethora of negative reasons. This is not a call for sympathy. It’s an explanation for why I have, personally, not accomplished any work on Sinclair’s Library this year. That is officially changing. Beginning next week, I’ll be committing full work hours into finishing what still needs to be written for the Codex.
I’ll be releasing new NPCs as I write them here in the Updates. You all deserve evidence of progress and that’s what I’m going to give you. So look forward to content updates each week as we inch closer to the finish line.
We do not have an official release date for the Codex, but I will work to get the digital version complete as soon as possible. It’s a massive goal for us to finish this project and make good on our promises, including getting them physically into your hands. This project is not dead or abandoned. We’re still here. We’re still working. And we’re still thankful for every ounce of patience you’ve given us.
Thank you to everyone who has politely voiced concerns and understood the struggles and mistakes that we’ve made. We will give you the books you deserve.
Sincerely,
The Sinclair’s Library Team
An Update Regarding Our Communication

(Or lack thereof)
Howdy all, It's Nonat. The past 6 months have been incredibly difficult for everyone on the Sinclair's team. That is not an excuse not to be providing you with at least bi-monthly updates regarding the state of the project. On behalf of the entire Sinclair's team, I want to let you all know how things have been progressing and where we currently stand.
Long story short, we ran out of funding a while back. Work on the project has come down to a volunteer basis of Natthan, Obscura, and EldritchDream doing work when they can. Real life always comes first, however, so they're only able to work on it in their free time. As such, the project is only getting around 10-15 hours of work done per week. Because of this, even though the finish line is in sight, progress on the project has slowed to a crawl.
With that being said, content is still being produced for the Codex and the 5th Edition version of the Almanac has been released as version 0.9. All of the content is available! All that's left is to finalize the formating! I've see new NPCs written and formatted for the Codex as recently as last week get added to the project. So, while progress is slow, it's still happening.
For more detailed information, please watch this video on the Nonat1s Youtube channel. It covers everything that's happened and how we got to where we are, and our plans going forward.
Thank you for all of your incredible patience so far. We don't deserve it, but it means the world to us.
